Touro College Berlin was established in Germany by Touro College and University System in New York, USA. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and by “Wissenschaftsrat” in Germany for its Bachelor and Master programs. New York remains the epicenter of the Touro network, with programs thriving in California, Nevada, Moscow, Israel, Berlin, and Paris.

About Touro College Berlin

Touro College is a sponsored independent institution of higher and professional education, chartered by New York State, United States in 1970. Since its inception, the college has demonstrated significant growth. A women’s division was added to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences along with schools of general studies, law and health sciences. Three osteopathic medical schools in California, Nevada, and New York were also subsequently organized. The college initiated one of its sister institutions in Berlin, Germany as Touro College Berlin (TBC).  Touro College Berlin was established in Germany by Touro College and University System in New York, USA. Our classes are taught in English – the language of business and academia; our students come from five continents; and they have the opportunity to study at least one semester abroad on our international campuses, for example, in New York City or Moscow

 
Bachelor programs with German and American degrees

Due to our accreditation in Germany and the United States, we are one of the few institutions in Europe to offer degrees that are fully recognized in both countries. Both programs can be studied at the same time. Our degrees include business (with concentrations in management, finance, marketing, and real estate management) and psychology (social and clinical, with a cross-cultural focus).

Exclusive Master of Business Administration programs with American degree

Our Master of Business Administration program is taught by experienced business instructors, a number of whom have graduated from various Ivy League schools. Through its interdisciplinary curriculum and its practitioner-oriented approach, it offers both novice and seasoned managers a comprehensive business education.

Successful alumni

95% of our students finish their degree within the regular time frame. Most of our graduates work in their field of study or are enrolled in a subsequent postgraduate program. Many of them are hired by multinational companies or choose to open their own businesses..

Full academic recognition

Touro College Berlin is one of the few academic institutions in Europe to offer degrees that are fully recognized in both Germany and the United States. Graduates who continue their studies at the Master's level have been accepted to graduate programs in public universities all over Germany. Touro degrees have qualified students for admission to many private German universities with full scholarships; our graduates have been accepted to some of the most prestigious European and American universities. Many students from Touro College Berlin's graduates have already successfully completed their graduate degrees, with some finishing doctoral programs.

Student satisfaction

At Touro College Berlin, our student satisfaction levels (as reflected by instructor evaluations) are much higher than is usual at public and private German universities. Touro Berlin scored 4.4 on a scale from 1 to 5. This compares to an average of 3.8 at public and 4.3 at private universities  

Quality measures of higher education

Touro College Berlin is the first American College in Berlin holding both American and German accreditation. The College has state-approved recognition in Germany and was granted German institutional accreditation by the "Wissenschaftsrat" on November 9, 2012. In the United States, Touro College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
In 2011 Touro College Berlin achieved top marks in the independent FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) program accreditation for its undergraduate business program: of 337 "Bachelor in Business" programs investigated, we scored number 1 in the international experience of students and faculty, top 5% in the development of soft skills, and top 5% in personal support of students, with an overall score placing us in the top 15%. The accreditation agency AQAS commented on our Master's program in Public History: "The excellent staff-student ratio represents an extremely positive aspect of the program. In the talks with students and lecturers the evaluators received a good impression of how closely cooperation between lecturers and students actually works. (…) The opportunities and propositions which the program offers in terms of assistance and advice were honorably mentioned by the evaluators throughout."
As mentioned earlier, Touro graduates have been accepted into advanced programs at highly reputed universities in Europe and America.

Career perspective

Our management graduates in Berlin are highly sought after by multinational firms with branches in Germany. The list of multinationals that have hired Touro College students reads like a "Who's Who" of international business, including Adidas, Parexel, Coca Cola, Blackrock, Socar, Jones Lang Lasalle and PWC.
A survey of graduates of our Master's program showed that 100% of the Touro College Berlin graduates either worked in their respective field of study or were enrolled in a doctoral program that built on the Touro degree.
In the independent FIBAA accreditation of our Bachelor's program in Management, we scored higher than all other 337 "Bachelor in Business" programs in Germany, Switzerland and Austria with regard to positioning ("How clear is the unique value of the program to employers and to other universities?").

Rankings and performance

The Wissenschaftsrat report states: (Masters program) "The research foundation as well as the quality of the Master's theses are to be rated as exceptionally good.
“(Bachelor's program): Several professors have excelled in their research by diverse and relevant publications."
The report also highlighted our "… realization of the principles of openness, diversity and intercultural understanding.”
The FIBAA Bachelor's program evaluation states: "a number of criteria that exceed the quality requirements."
The current "U.S. News Education Ranking" of regional colleges (North) ranks Touro College New York in the second quartile of all assessed colleges, establishing it as a regular, affordable high-quality institution.
In recent years, Touro College students have achieved outstanding results on the U.S. National Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams.
